  1. How MicroCook has evolved..............
  2.  
  3.     Many of these additions and improvements were suggestions
  4. from MicroCook users. So it help to "complain", plus it might
  5. result in a FREE registration if the bug has not been reported
  6. before. Together WE can make MicroCook better!
  7.  
  8. Version 2.1 - Upgrade release, July 1997
  9. - Added easy Index Card printing. With Card Setup editor for
  10.   setting up your own Card Definition files. Including options to
  11.   print in condensed print for both dot-matrix and Laser/DeskJet
  12.   printers.
  13. - Added fast Backup/Restore of recipe databases with help of
  14.   PKZIP & PKUNZIP. ZIP databases to floppy disks or other backup
  15.   drive. PKZIP.EXE & PKUNZIP.EXE from PKWARE is required for this
  16.   function. See PKZIP.TXT file for more information. 
  17. - Fixed one more bug in the Index, again found by Earl.

  19. Version 1.99 - Bug fixes, released April 1997
  20. - Fixed bug in Index that didn't sort the Index correctly if
  21.   an Index or Disk View was sorted. Thanks again to Earl for the
  22.   bug report. 
  23. - Fixed bug that prevented deletion of recipe number larger than
  24.   1000.
  25. - Fixed bug in Index Sort. Click on ESC didn't work.
  26. - New mailing address for NORSKi Software.

  28. Version 1.98 - Upgrade release July 1996
  29. - Added Code Field in editor. This ONE character can be a very
  30.   powerful item when it comes to sort or group of recipes. It's
  31.   transferred to the Index, so it can be sorted and searched on.
  32.   A Search & Replace menu item for the Code is also added along
  33.   with a Clear or Set for the whole database. Individual Code
  34.   characters can be assigned for each imported file. Thanks to
  35.   Earl in the Netherlands for the idea.
  36. - Added a Swap function to the split-window when comparing
  37.   duplicates during import. You can now swap the imported recipe
  38.   with the one in the database importing to. This will overwrite
  39.   the original recipe. Thanks to David in St. Louis for this
  40.   idea!
  41. - Added possibilities to save a duplicate recipe while comparing
  42.   in the split-window during import to a separate DUPES.MCD
  43.   database. This database can then later be edited. Duplicate
  44.   checking must be ON in Setup for this to work.
  45. - Added a new button that will do a nonstop import, but save all
  46.   duplicate recipes automatically to DUPES.MCD.

  48. Version 1.97 - Upgrade release May 1996
  49. - REMOVED 150 recipe limit in Index select!!
  50. - Added split-window for comparing duplicate recipes either
  51.   during imports or when entering from editor. Two recipes can
  52.   also be selected in the Index Select for comparing. This
  53.   function was requested by many. 
  54. - Added possibility to create a KEY file in MicroCook after
  55.   receiving serial number from NORSKi Software. No need to wait
  56.   for disk with the KEY. But the disk with the KEY, MCDBFIX and
  57.   the 2000 recipes will be sent to you anyway.
  58. - Moved more routines to Overlays so more memory left for the
  59.   recipe index array.
  60. - Added Auto-Config the first time MicroCook is loaded.
  61. - Fixed bug in duplicate checking when entering recipes from the
  62.   editor.
  63. - Fixed bug in "Create New Database."
  64. - Fixed bug in "Pack."
  65. - REDUCED REGISTRATION FEE TO $15.00
  66. - Less "Please Register."

  73. Version 1.96 - Upgrade release February 1996
  74. - Added use of Extended (XMS) or Expanded (EMS) memory for
  75.   Overlays. This will remove any "Out of memory" errors, and also
  76.   increase the database capacity with over 100%! MicroCook can
  77.   now load in as little as 400 Kb of free conventional RAM, and
  78.   still have room for recipes. See the manual (MCOOK.MAN) for
  79.   more details. Note: Do NOT use file compression programs like
  80.   PKLITE or LZEXE on MCOOK.EXE. This is due to the Overlays.
  81. - Added menu "help" on bottom screen line.
  82. - Added timed file buffer flushing to prevent lose of data during
  83.   power outage, PC lock up, or an accidental trip over the power
  84.   cord to the PC:)
  85. - Added a full editor in an external program to fill out
  86.   registrations. Make registration even easier!
  87. - Added option to Pack the database after recipe deletion in
  88.   the Index.
  89. - Fixed bug that removed any tagged recipes when sorting during
  90.   recipe deletion in Index select.
  91. - Fixed a few (small) bugs, and tuned some routines for better
  92.   speed.   
  93. - And added 150 displayed recipes limit in Index select. This
  94.   should be enough when evaluating an un-registered version. I
  95.   know that's about impossible to get all people that use
  96.   MicroCook to register. But from e-mail and other "sources" it's
  97.   clear that a LOT of people are still using MicroCook without
  98.   registering way past the 30 days evaluation period.

  100. Version 1.92 - Maintenance release October 1995
  101. - Fixed bug in recipe printing. If no header was selected,
  102.   default header was used.
  103. - Fixed bug in Setup editor.
  104. - Removed "Disable prompt" window when using 'Delete This Recipe'
  105.   (ALT-Z). This prompt can now be enabled/disabled from Setup.
  106. - Removed 'Justification selection' window at start of MealMaster
  107.   Import. These variables can now be set in Setup.
  108. - Fixed bug that could give an error if an ALT-Z (Delete this
  109.   recipe) was used after an edit & save.
  110. - Misc. small "clean up & fixes".

  112. Version 1.91 - Upgrade/Maintenance release August 1995
  113. - Added File Manager with Copy, Move, Delete, Rename, View, Print
  114.   (From View) and Edit of any files. The ASCII editor has built
  115.   in Macros for editing ASCII recipes in other formats before
  116.   Import into MicroCook. Approx. 50Kb file capacity in ASCII
  117.   editor.  
  118. - Added Sort on recipe numbers in Index (F8). Can be handy if you
  119.   want to group all the last imported recipes together at the top
  120.   of the index (sort descending). 
  121. - Added Warning window IF MicroCook is loaded through Windows AND
  122.   the DOS mouse driver is NOT loaded. Windows mouse driver do NOT
  123.   work with MicroCook, or any other DOS programs.
  124. - Added ALT-C, Clear All, and ALT-M, Mark All recipes when
  125.   tagging (Delete, Print & Export) in Index.
  126. - Added a new way to tag recipes. If ENTER is used, the tagging
  127.   will stop at the bottom of the page. A Page Down will display a
  128.   new page with the cursor bar on top recipe. If Spacebar is
  129.   used, it's as before. Cursor will keep on going to the end of
  130.   the index.
  131. - In "Delete this recipe" (ALT-Z) fixed bug. PC crash if deleting
  132.   last recipe in the index listing with ALT-Z.
  133. - Added option in Setup to disable warning prompt when "Delete
  134.   This recipe" (ALT-Z) is used.
  135. - Moved options in Meal-Master Import re. Left or Center
  136.   justified, and removal of 'x' in Ingredients during import, 
  137.   to Setup. 
  138. - Added option to command line prompt to disable the 'fancy'
  139.   screen transitions between Index and editor. Type MCOOK HELP
  140.   from the DOS prompt for details. Suggestion from Andy B. in
  141.   Indiana.
  142. - Fixed bug in Setup that prevented a blank line to be entered as
  143.   recipe header on printout.
  144. - Fixed bug in Index Select. Error IF current search (View) was 
  145.   shorter than the previous one AND the cursor was previously
  146.   moved to the end of index.

  149. History from version 1.2 to 1.81 is deleted. The history became
  150. too long because a lot happened to MicroCook the last years.
